Details Of Your Programme

Please list below details of your proposed programme in the order in which it will be performed. All details, i.e. movement, Opus number etc. must be complete.It should be of no more than 15 minutes' duration (including breaks between pieces and any spoken instructions). Credit will be given for a balanced and varied selection of pieces.

Entry into the Young Musician of the Year is limited to 20 performers and the final decision of successful applicants is at the discretion of the competition organisers. The closing date for entries is Saturday 6 November 2021.

To be considered for entry you must between 18 and 24 years old on 31 December 2021 and currently resident in the United Kingdom. Please complete the form below and make the entry fee payment through PayPal.

Contestants should submit a programme of a maximum of 15 minutes' duration, (including breaks between pieces and spoken introductions). Pieces chosen must not be played in any other part of the Huddersfield Mrs Sunderland Festival 2020. Credit will be given for a varied selection of pieces.

Please note that the audience members will have a copy of the programme, so that performers do not have to introduce each piece, with the risk of running over time.

The winner will be announced at the end of the competition and be required to perform their programme at the Last Night Concert on Saturday 26 February 2022 where the Trophy and Prize will be presented by the Mayor of Kirklees.

If you have paid the entry fee and are unsuccessful in entering this years competition your entry fee will be refunded to you.

Full details concerning music copying can be found in the Huddersfield Mrs Sunderland Festival Syllabus under Festival Rules 6 (Copyright Regulations). Photocopies will only be accepted if presented in a fully legible condition, properly attached and labelled. The original piece of music MUST be brought on the day of the competition.

In the event of a candidates withdrawl from the competition the entry fee will not be refunded.
